Career Centers

We are committed to empowering Baltimore County residents by ensuring access to the technology needed to thrive in today's workplace. Services offered at the Career Centers include:

  • Access to computers, internet, fax and copy machines
  • Job search assistance
  • Labor market information and career assessment tools
  • Career planning and trainings, guidance assistance
  • Planning for short-term skills enhancement programs
  • Planning for occupations skills training

Contact your local Career Center about career services orientation or if you require assistance from home. Computer lab capacity will be reduced by no less than 50 percent. Computer and resource area usage is limited to a one-hour time limit per day. Career Center staff will be able to assist with lab services.

DIGITAL LITERACY PROGRAM (dlp)

Advances in digital technology have changed aspects of everyday life. The Digital Literacy Program enables adults to succeed in a range of technological activities, from Technology Basics for Employment to learning Microsoft Word and Excel. Program courses take place at the Liberty, Hunt Valley and Eastpoint Career Centers each month. Use the Upcoming Events list for specific dates and times. Contact the career center you wish to participate at to register.

Learning the Microsoft Word and Excel programs will help customers create professional looking documents, add design layouts, organize data, translate data into meaningful information, and learn how to calculate, analyze, revise, update and present data to drive decision making in the workplace.

Curriculum Content

  • Introduction to Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Word: Intermediate
  • Introduction to Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Excel: Intermediate

Participants must attend the introduction and intermediate level of the chosen course.

This Digital Literacy Program enables adults to succeed in a range of technological activities. From utilizing basic devices, understanding file management to working virtual platforms, this program will assist in job and technology readiness.

This program includes four workshops and participants must attend all four.

Upcoming Career Center Closure
The Hunt Valley and Liberty Career Centers will be closed on Thursday, August 21 and will reopen on Friday, August 22. The Eastpoint Career Center will be open to customers on Thursday, August 21.
